Attributes correspond to user contact details that are displayed in your signatures.
With Letsignit, you can manage 3 different types of attributes:
Default attributes: these are the default attributes in your directory, automatically synchronized with Letsignit.
Custom attributes: these are personalized attributes from your directory that you can choose to bring up in Letsignit.
Letsignit attributes: these are new attributes that you can create directly on the Letsignit platform.
To access this, go to the side navigation bar at the top right of your platform, then click “Organization” and “User Attributes”:
1. Default attributes
This type of attribute is present and synchronized by default from your directory when synchronization is set up. If changes are made to these attributes from your directory, they will be automatically modified in Letsignit.
As with other types of attributes, you can prevent your users from modifying this data (via the add-in, the app, and their user profile on their platform). To do this, click the “padlock” icon at the end of the line. Once you confirm this action, users will no longer be able to edit this data. If you click the other “eye” icon, you can also choose to completely hide this attribute from users.
2. Custom Attributes
These are custom attributes created in your directory.
If custom attributes are present in your directory, you can choose to sync them from the sync settings.
For G Suite and On-Premises/CSV: Currently, all attributes are synced at the same time. Learn more about G Suite custom attributes.
For Office 365: Go to the Connectors page, select the synchronization scope that best suits your needs, and confirm. Learn more about custom attributes for Microsoft AD
You can then find them under the “Custom Attributes” tab
Next, click (1) “Add” and select the new attribute you want to sync from the drop-down list:
Once the custom attributes have been synced, you’ll need to specify a “display name” to use them; to do this, click the “pencil” icon.
This is the name under which you’ll find it in the designer (at the very bottom of the list):
In the user profile under the “Custom Attributes” section
And in the app, also under the “Custom Attributes” section
To disable a custom attribute, you must first remove it (using the designer) from any signature or campaign, then click the “Reset” icon to reset the display name.
Note: Custom attributes cannot be deleted in Letsignit; they can only be disabled.
Warning: If synchronization from the directory is deleted or disabled and custom attributes are configured, they will be converted to Letsignit attributes while preserving the user’s information.
However, converting them to Letsignit attributes will prevent them from being updated via synchronization from the directory. It is therefore strongly discouraged to disable synchronization.
For custom attributes, just as with other types of attributes, you have the option to hide the attribute or prevent users from editing it.
3. Letsignit Attributes
From this tab, you can create custom attributes directly on the platform.
Next, enter the name of this new attribute and click the “+” icon
Note that for Letsignit attributes—just like for other types of attributes—you have options to hide the attribute or prevent users from editing it.
You’ll then find this attribute in the designer under the “Letsignit Attributes” section, where you can insert it into your signatures:
And also in the user profile, again under the “Letsignit Attributes” section
