Deploy the PowerPoint Add-in

Install Letsignit Slides with confidence

Written by Caroline C.

This guide is intended for Microsoft 365 administrators and IT teams. It explains how to deploy the PowerPoint add-in across your Microsoft 365 environment and make it available to your users.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure the following requirements are met:

  • Letsignit Slides is enabled on your account. If you're unsure whether the feature is available, please contact your Letsignit representative.

  • You have administrator access to the Letsignit platform.

  • You have a Microsoft 365 Global Administrator account.

  • You have a supported Microsoft 365 subscription:

    • Apps for Business

    • Business Standard

    • Business Premium

    • E3

    • E5

    • F3

For PowerPoint Online only, Business Basic, E1, and Exchange Online (Plan 1 or Plan 2) are also supported.

  • You are using a supported PowerPoint environment:

    • Windows 10 (version 1903 or later) or Windows Server 2019 (version 1903 or later)

    • PowerPoint for macOS 16.54 (21101001) or later

    • PowerPoint Online with a supported Microsoft 365 subscription

  • Your network allows access to Letsignit services. If your organization uses a proxy, secure web gateway, or internet filtering rules, make sure the required Letsignit domains are allowed by your IT team.

Deploy the Add-in

  1. Sign in to the Letsignit portal and go to Settings > Integrations.

  2. In the Microsoft 365 deployment section, click Access the add-in. You will be automatically redirected to Microsoft AppSource.

Note: The PowerPoint add-in is not listed in the public AppSource search results.

  3. Click Get it now. You will then be redirected to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

  4. Choose the deployment scope:

    • Just for yourself (recommended for testing)

    • Entire organization

    • Specific users or groups (for example, your Marketing team)

  5. Click Accept permissions. This mandatory step grants the permissions required for the add-in to access and insert the presentations made available to users.

  6. Review the deployment summary (scope and permissions), then click Finish deployment.

Once deployment is complete, the add-in will appear with an OK status in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, and a confirmation email will be sent to the administrator. Allow up to 72 hours for the add-in to become available to all targeted users.

Best practice: Deploy the add-in to a test group first rather than using the Test Deployment option in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

Troubleshooting

If the add-in does not appear for a user, the most common causes and their solutions are listed below:

Cause

Solution

Deployment still in progress

Allow up to 72 hours for deployment to complete and check the status in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

User not included in the deployment scope

Verify that the user is included in the selected deployment group or scope.

Unsupported Microsoft 365 license

Confirm that the user has a supported Microsoft 365 license (see Prerequisites).

Outdated PowerPoint version

Update PowerPoint to a supported version (see Prerequisites).

Proxy or network filtering blocking Letsignit services

Ensure the required Letsignit domains are allowed by your network and security policies. Contact your Letsignit representative if needed.

Conflict with another PowerPoint add-in

Temporarily disable other add-ins to identify any potential conflicts.

Letsignit Slides not enabled on your account

Contact your Letsignit representative to verify that the feature has been activated.

Security, Hosting & Data Privacy

Letsignit Slides is designed to meet enterprise requirements for security, privacy, and compliance.

With Letsignit Slides:

  • Your content is hosted in Europe on Microsoft Azure.

  • Data is encrypted and logically isolated between customers.

  • The add-in never accesses presentations created by your users.

  • Letsignit is certified ISO 27001 and ISO 27018, and follows a Privacy by Design approach in line with GDPR requirements.

  • You remain in full control of your content and data at all times.

This allows you to deploy and manage company presentations with confidence, even in highly regulated or security-conscious environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the PowerPoint add-in and the Outlook add-in?

The add-ins are two separate products and are deployed independently.

They share the same Letsignit platform and directory synchronization mechanism (Azure AD / Google Workspace), but each add-in requires its own deployment.

How can I verify that the deployment was successful?

You can check the deployment status from both the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and the Presentations integration page within the Letsignit platform.

What Microsoft 365 permissions does the add-in require?

The add-in authenticates through your Azure AD directory and only requests the permissions required for its operation.

All communications are encrypted, and no email or document traffic is redirected through Letsignit.

Are add-in updates automatic?

Yes. Software updates are managed centrally and are deployed automatically. No reinstallation or action is required from administrators or end users.

Good to know: This applies to software updates only. Content updates (templates, presentations, brand assets, etc.) are managed separately by your Marketing or Communications team through the Letsignit platform and are made available to users in real time.

Is the add-in available in PowerPoint Online?

Yes.

Letsignit Slides is available in both PowerPoint Online and the desktop version of PowerPoint.

A few limitations apply to the web version:

  • Custom company fonts are not supported.

  • PowerPoint theme colors are not applied automatically.

  • The Letsignit Slides pane does not open automatically and must be launched manually from the PowerPoint add-ins menu.

Note: For the best experience and full support of PowerPoint features such as fonts, themes, and color palettes, we recommend using the desktop application.

Does Letsignit Slides work offline?

An internet connection is required to access the slide library and retrieve content from Letsignit.

However, once slides have been inserted into PowerPoint, they remain fully editable offline.

Which browsers and environments are supported?

Letsignit Slides is compatible with:

  • PowerPoint Desktop (Windows and macOS)

  • PowerPoint Online

  • Modern versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari

Is Letsignit Slides compatible with Microsoft 365 Copilot?

Yes.

Letsignit Slides and Microsoft Copilot are complementary solutions:

  • Copilot helps users generate content such as text, data summaries, and visuals.

  • Letsignit Slides ensures that content is created using approved templates and remains consistent with your company's brand guidelines.

There is no conflict between the two solutions—they work seamlessly together.

Do IT teams need to install company fonts on users' devices?

Not necessarily.

You have two options:

  • Install the fonts on users' devices for the most reliable and consistent rendering.

  • Embed the fonts directly into PowerPoint files, allowing presentations to display correctly without local font installation.

If fonts are neither installed nor embedded, PowerPoint will automatically substitute them with alternative fonts, which may affect the presentation's appearance.

Does Letsignit Slides have access to my presentations?

No.

Letsignit Slides does not access, read, store, or transmit the presentations or content created by your users.

The add-in operates entirely client-side and only interacts with the slides, templates, and assets made available by your organization through the Letsignit platform, as well as the information required for authentication (name and email address). User-generated files and content remain under the exclusive control of Microsoft 365.

Where are slides stored?

Slides uploaded to Letsignit Slides are hosted in Europe on Microsoft Azure, within a dedicated environment for your organization.

All data is encrypted.

Is Letsignit Slides GDPR compliant?

Yes.

Letsignit is certified ISO 27018, the international standard for protecting personal data in cloud environments.

We also follow a Privacy by Design approach, provide a Data Processing Agreement (DPA), and have a dedicated Data Protection Officer (DPO) to support compliance requirements.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

Your data is automatically deleted after a retention period of 97 days (90 days + 7 days).

You may also export your content before the end of your contract.

Are Microsoft 365 sensitivity labels compatible with Letsignit Slides?

Yes.

Presentations created by your users remain entirely within Microsoft 365. Because Letsignit Slides operates client-side and does not access user files, any sensitivity labels or protection policies managed through Microsoft Purview continue to be applied and enforced by Microsoft without interference from Letsignit.

Is Letsignit Slides compliant with digital accessibility standards?

As a Microsoft 365 add-in provider, Letsignit is not directly subject to accessibility regulations such as RGAA.

However, the add-in is designed with usability in mind, including clear navigation, search capabilities, categories, and visual previews. Accessibility improvements remain part of our ongoing product roadmap.

Please note that the accessibility of a final presentation also depends on the content and templates provided by each organization.
