You can now see the approximate weight of your signatures and campaigns.

How does it work?

  • A dynamic counter is integrated into the signature and campaign designers. It updates automatically according to the elements you add or remove, as well as the parameters you choose, such as the image insertion mode.

If it respects the recommended thresholds, it appears in green.

What are our recommendations?

To ensure optimal display and respect good practices, here are the weight recommendations defined by Letsignit:

  • Signature only: maximum 200 Kb

  • Campaign only: maximum 300 Kb

These recommendations are based on :

  • A typical signature including: 2 images, a profile photo, social network icons, with embedded images

  • A campaign with embedded image

The weight of your signature depends on the method used to embed the images:

  • Embedded images: these are integrated directly into the email, increasing the total weight of the signature by around 34%.

  • Web hosted images: these are stored on an external server and loaded when the email is opened, thus reducing the weight of the signature.

These recommendations are based on feedback from our marketing teams and our customers. They enable :

  • Quality rendering

  • Optimal compatibility with email clients

  • Improved email deliverability and performance

Best practices to adopt

  • Choose the JPEG format, ideal for a good compromise between quality and lightness.

  • Reserve PNG format for cases requiring transparency.

  • Avoid GIF format whenever possible

  • Reduce the number of images included in your campaign signatures, to make e-mails lighter.

  • Adjust the compression ratio before importing: many free tools enable you to compress your images without any significant loss of quality.

  • See our advice on recommended dimensions for each type of image. Read our image size recommendations
