Your employees can share their contact details instantly thanks to the vCard feature.

How does it work?

  • Each user has his or her own vCard link, automatically generated by Letsignit.

  • The administrator makes the user's vCard available in 2 ways.

    • By embedding a vCard link in signatures

    • By sending vCards as QR codes by e-mail to user groups of your choice

  • Once shared, this link or QR code makes it easy to download the user's vCard.

Feature activation

The feature can be activated from the new Features page, accessible from the main menu.

  • the feature can be activated by the administrator from the global level

  • each subsidiary inherits the setting defined at global level, but cannot activate/deactivate independently.

Automatic generation of vCards for each user

When the feature is activated, a vCard attribute is automatically generated by Letsignit for each user.

  • The vCard attribute is visible on the Attributes page, in Letsignit's Attributes tab.

  • This attribute cannot be deleted or formatted.

  • Nor can it be modified (either by the admin or by the end user).

  • Like any attribute (if the admin has left the attribute visible in the settings), the end user will find the link to his vCard in his profile (platform, APP or Add-in).

What information is included in a user's vCard?

  • The vCard attribute is based on user attributes already synchronized on Letsignit (hence the dynamic and always up-to-date content of the vCard).

  • Here are the attributes that can be retrieved in each vCard if a value is present for the user.

    • Last name

    • First name

    • Company name

    • Telephone numbers (all types)

    • Job title

    • Email

    • Profile picture

How do you send vCards as QR codes to your users?

  • From the old team page, select one or more user groups and send the vCard QR code by e-mail.

  • Select the user group(s) to which you wish to send the vCard QR code by e-mail.

  • a window appears with a preview of the e-mail your users will receive, validate to send the e-mail.

Each user in the targeted groups will receive their own vCard QR code by e-mail, which they can save on their computer or cell phone and share whenever they like.

The QR code is available :

  • in the body of the mail

  • as an attachment

⚠️In Gmail, QR code and images do not appear correctly

How do you insert vCards as links in your employees' signatures?

  • in the designer, open the Widget menu in the side panel.

  • drag and drop the vcard widget into the desired position in the signature

  • You can modify the text to be displayed in the signature (either directly by dragging and dropping the widget, or by double-clicking on an already inserted widget).

  • If you wish, you can also insert the vcard attribute behind an image block by choosing the attribute in the URL, or simply by inserting this attribute in an HTML block.

Feature deactivation

If the feature is deactivated, all vCard links are disabled (for all users at global and subsidiary level).

  • if a recipient tries to download a user's vCard when the feature is no longer enabled on Letsignit, a “not found” error will be displayed on download and the vCard will no longer be accessible.

  • if the administrator had activated the feature (i.e. a vCard link had already been generated for each user) and then deactivated it. If he then reactivates it, the vCard links will remain unchanged for the users.
